Dolby Vision support arriving soon to Xbox One

A new system update preview has rolled out on Thursday for Xbox Insiders program members. Some of these featured available for preview will roll out this summer for all Xbox One consoles and some will be rolling out in the next few weeks.

Xbox One consoles are set for Dolby Vision support in honour of Xbox’s dedication to bringing rich entertainment options to Xbox fans. The addition of Dolby Vision support will provide high quality video streaming quality across Xbox One S and One X consoles. This enables TVs to take HDR through the roof with scene-by-scene precision and accuracy.

Xbox Avatars will now appear in the dashboard thanks to the Xbox Avatar Editor that was in preview last month. Now, fans can see their (and their friends’) Avatars throughout the Xbox One dashboard – across user profiles, friend blocks on Home, Gamerscore comparisons, Community posts and more. Avatars are a unique (and creative) representation of players and their desired style, personality and mood. Xbox has provided many customisation options for players to show off their true (gamer) self.

There are plenty of other features that Insider members can test drive during the preview status including a host of accessibility options and experimental features. If you’re an Insider member, the preview update is available now for testing.

Alongside the features currently in development, another preview build is available for Alpha Ring members which fixes known issues for headsets, virtual keyboard, Game Pass tab, networking and more.
