Blizzard going all out for Overwatch’s second Anniversary Event

Our favourite team-based multiplayer is turning two this week...

Birthday celebrations are set as Blizzard is gearing up for one of the biggest events to hit the team-based multiplayer title, Overwatch.

From May 22nd to June 11th, Overwatch players on Xbox One and PC can join in on the celebrations as Blizzardhas plenty of content to go around. The best news of all: the anniversary event will be free to play during Xbox’s Free Play Days For All weekend from May 25-27.

One of the new content adduuons forming part of the anniversary event is the arrival of a new Deathmatch map, Petra. The map will have a “Competitive Mode” that will include placement tires, leader boards and skill rankings. Players who log in during the anniversary event will be treated to a free Legendary Anniversary Loot Box which guarantees at least one Legendary item.

Along with the new Deathmatch map, there will be over 50 new cosmetic items including eight Legendary skins, new Epic skins and dancing emotes…plus Tracer goes blonde?! Say no more…

Staying with cosmetics, the last year’s seasonal cosmetics will be available for purchase. All cosmetics from the Summer Games, Halloween Terror and more can now be added to your current cosmetic collection while hop in on the fun with the seasonal brawls from Lucioball, Yeti Hunt as well as the Overwatch: Archieves, Retribution and Uprising as players have another opportunity to replay and survive the brawls.. More cosmetics will be revealed on various social media platforms so do keep an eye out for them.
