The studio behind titles like LawBreakers and Radical Heights has closed its doors forever. The studio’s founder Cliff Bleszinski broke the news on Twitter in an emotional tweet on Monday.
The studio has been under immense pressure over the last few months which apexed when LawBreakers failed to make an impression with the audience and Radical Heights followed suit. Ultimately, its fate was written in the stars as Bleszinski had to come to terms with the failures of both LawBreakers and Radical Heights and the subsequent impact it had on the studio as it became impossible to keep the studio running financially. As the remaining staff are coming to terms as to what the future holds, Bleszinski commented that he’ll be taking some much needed time to reevaluate his career but will be focusing his time towards his family.
Boss Key Productions is one of many studios that had to close its doors over the last three years. Its closure is an indicator of how unpredictable the game developing industry. Studios that saw it’s end too soon included Lionhead Studios (Fable), Pandemic Studios (Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries) and Rockstar Vancouver just yo mention.
On the bright side, Divinity developer, Larian Studios has openly stated that the studio is hiring and have reached out to former employees.
We wish them all the best of luck on their future endeavours.
