On Wednesday, Konami announced some major news that Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is back in 2019 and have enlisted Barcelona and Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho as their cover star for the year’s edition. The developer has promised more fully-licenced leagues and stadiums despite their partnership with UEFA falling through the cracks early this month.
PES 2019 may have undergone a massive overhaul with the game introducing 11 new skill traits who should bring more variety and character to the game (which seemed to have lacked in previous titles) bringing the total to 39 skill traits. These skill traits include cross over turn, no-look pass, controlled chip, dipping shot and rising shot. Also included is a fatigue system which will indicate how tired or low fatigue the players are.
However, the introduction of myClub does vaguely remind one of FIFA Ultimate Teams, will have newly designed player cards as well as introducing “high performance players” which features football legends and players of the week (which will have temporary boosted cards based on real-time performance stats of that week).
Konami also announced its Legendary Edition featuring England midfielder David Beckham as its cover star for its alternate game versions, David Beckham Edition and Legend Edition.
Pre-orders for PES 2019 is now available for Xbox One and PC with the official release date for August 30, 2018 according to Konami and the Microsoft Store
