One of the best-selling RPGs in video game history will be getting its own TV series thanks to streaming service, Netflix.
The streaming service currently ordered eight episodes of The Witcher based on the video game trilogy which was adapted from a series of novels by Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski.
The series, based on the series first two novels Sword of Destiny and The Last Wish, is currently being filmed in Eastern Europe and according to the show’s writer and executive producer Lauren S. Hissrich stating that the show will value “its quality over quantity” as it has been seen in another television series, Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones, as an example, had at least 10 episodes per season until season seven which had only seven episodes and it is this method that had proven successful for the show and it’s network, HBO proving that quality indeed triumph over quantity.
Hissrich further stated that fans could expect the pilot episode sometime in 2020 which the show will hopefully be out of the hair of HBO and Game of Thrones.
