#WeekendRoundup: More Xbox E3 news, Tomb Raider heading to Tribeca and new Overwatch PTR patch notes

This weekend has been rather quiet in the world of gaming. The Rocket League Regional Championships took over North America and Europe as the best teams would progress to the World Championship.

But first, here’s a look at some of the weekend top stories:

Xbox to reveal details on merchandise store at E3

Xbox merchandise had always been exclusively available for competitions, gifts for employees and at E3 but those days will soon be forgotten as these awesome merchandise will be coming to fans as a store which will be announced at E3 in June.

We’ve been hearing these rumours for a while that Xbox will be launching a store but according to head of Marketing at Xbox, Aaron Greenberg, it seems that Xbox are looking to announce it plus more information at this year’s biggest gaming convention.

As many are dreaming to purchase that super adorable Xbox onesie or the totally cool controller pillow, bear in mind that the Xbox merchandise store wont launch in 2018 but the fact that Xbox is working on the development around a store for the fans and, hopefully the pricing not too high, our eyes and ears will be glued to out screens at E3 for what Xbox has instore.

Exclusive Shadow of Tomb Raider first look at Tribeca Film Festival

An exclusive first look into the upcoming Tomb Raider title hosted by Tribeca Games will take place at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The screening which will happen on April 27, 2018 will be attended by the game’s voice actor, Camilla Luddington (Lara Croft) and Game Awards host Geoff Knighley for an evening to experience the danger, the recklessness and a epic conclusion if a trilogy in New York.

New Overwatch PTR patch notes, Hanzo’s Scatter Arrow removed, new map

The latest Overwatch Public Test Realm (PTR) patch notes revealed some rather intesrting details for the team-based multiplayer shooter which doesn’t come much of a surprise.

Please note that these changes are currently available for testing on the PTR which many will be made available for PlayStation and Xbox in a later patch.

The PTR has a new escort map, Rialto, available for testing. Home to a Talon agent, the location is notable for its involvement in the “Venice Accident” which was the turning point for Overwatch and Talon. So, enjoy the picturesque views, soak up the Italian sun and take a gondola ride as you may not enjoy the view for much longer…

Some characters have undergone some changes to their abilities, most noted is Hanzo. This patch will see his Scatter Arrows replaced with Storm Arrows which sees Hanzo now rapidly firing up to six arrows at full power, dealing a reduced damage.

According to Blizzard:

“The goal of these Hanzo changes is to allow him to have new options and maintain his high damage output, while removing the frustration of fighting against the old Scatter Arrow. Hanzo is now much more mobile with his new Lunge ability, and with the combination of the bow projectile speed increase and the new Storm Arrows ability he can now deal his high damage more consistently than ever before.”
