Next wave of Original Xbox backward compatibility titles revealed

Microsoft have planned something rather big regarding the Original Xbox backward compatibility catelogue which was revealed in last night’s Inside Xbox episode.

However, before last night’s episode, an Xbox Marketplace listing has recently surfaced, revealing pages of titles that are expected to form part of the next backward compatibility listing which includes The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Destroy All Humans, MX Unleashed and Full Spectrum Warrior.

However, last night’s Inside Xbox episode confirmed the above-mentioned titles plus an additional 15 titles were announced completing the next wave of Original Xbox backward compatibility listing to 19 titles overall.

The complete list of titles will be released in two separate groups, the first launching April 17th. Xbox owners can expect the following Original Xbox titles:

  • Blinx: The Time Sweeper
  • Breakdown
  • Conker: Live & Reloaded
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • Hunter: The Reckoning
  • Jade Empire
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • SSX 3

Then the second batch of Original Xbox backward compatibility titles will arrive to Xbox One one week later will include the following titles:

  • Destroy All Humans!
  • Full Spectrum Warrior
  • Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
  • MX Unleashed
  • Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory (Europe only)
  • Star Wars: Battlefront
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
  • Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter
  • Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
  • Star Wars: Republic Commando

All titles can be played on the Xbox One console either by owning a physical copy or by purchasing a digital copy via Microsoft Store.

The tech giant had previously voiced concerns regarding the difficulty in bringing some Orginal Xbox titles to modern consoles due to licencing issues. But instead having accomplished to resolve the pitfalls facing them and to bring classic titles like Morrowind and Jade Empire to modern consoles and the Star Wars Jedi Academy titles is a feat in which Microsoft can now share with the community, reaffirming their commitment towards its gamers.
