The Easter weekend will be kicking off the brand new month, plunging everyone into a sea of chocolate. And while we’ll be spending the next few days gouging ourselves in chocolate, on the gaming front, ushers in the Spring season with awesome new titles.
Although a relatively quieter month compared to the blockbuster month of March, there are a few gems to keep your eye out.
TERA (Xbox One, PC)
The visually enticing fantasy MMO from Bluehole Studios (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), will finally go live with its console release this month.
Arun and Shara are two beings with incredible powers met in a formless void who then fall into a dream state (a la Inception style). As they continue to dream, The Exiled Realm of Arborea (TERA) starts to appear in which their bodies form the continents that TERA is composed of. As their dreams are being realised, 12 godlike beings are birthed from this creation which subsequently plunged the world into a violent war between mortals and gods leaving many gods dead, imprisoned or diminished. While the race is mostly wiped out, a new alliance emerges comprising of most TERA’s races to continue fighting the evils that lie beyond their world.
Powered by Unreal Engine 3, the action MMO TERA has had massive success since launching on PC in 2011 with now an impending console launch this month. With the game already in Early Access, the game combines social RPG elements with face-paced combat mechanics that has been widely popular among players. There has been plenty of excitement for a console release as the studio revealed that the game will be implementing the free-to-play model upon release.
TERA finally gets its console release for Xbox One and PC on April 3, 2018.
