Fortnite’s new limited time mode is all fast pace and intense action

While many on the opposite end of the hemisphere have been enjoying the frenzy of Fortnite: Battle Royale on iOS devices (and crossplay feature is enabled for Xbox One and PC), Epic Games detailed the newly limited time mode dropping by for Battle Royale players.

Blitz Mode is one of the few modes for Battle Royale teased by developer Epic Games last month and teased once again in the latest patch notes released last week.

This limited time mode is perfect for players who don’t have time to try the full Battle Royale experience as each match, according to Epic Games, will be a maximum of 15 minutes. Once the match begins, players will jump into the game with the storm cloud closing in our players. The mode will look and work like the traditional four-man-squad but just much faster and way more aggressive.

With Blitz Mode, the number of treasure chests and loot boxes (we love loot boxes) have increased but also decreasing the number of supply drops (llama, anyone?). The mode will also see resources been doubled to keep up with the game’s intense pace which as a result, this makes building so much more fun and easy to build walls and structures within in minutes. Players can build structures without having to farm for resources which could lead to some exciting and intense matches.

At this rate, taking a breather or nap could come at a cost in this high risk, high reward mode.

With the success of the Fortnite: Battle Royale mobile version in such a short space of time, Blitz Mode is the ideal feature running on the mobile version where we can see people jumping into a match during lunch breaks at work, school or university (or even a trip to the bathroom could leave you losing track of time) but at the moment finds its home on console and PC. And even if the mode is a “limited time mode”, we would like to see these modes becoming a permanent fixture for the mobile version.

With Blitz Mode in full effect, how does this limited time mode fair with the Battle Royale mode? And would you like to see limited time modes becoming a permanent feature for the game? Let us know in the comments section below or follow Xbox Players SA on Facebook and Twitter.
