This past weekend saw everyone painting the town (and social media) green in honour of St. Patrick’s Day in which some of our favourite gaming titles celebrated the feast day in their unique way.

“Luck of the Irish” comes to CoD: WWII
A brand new operation arrived to Call of Duty: WWII this past week ahead of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Aptly named, Shamrock & Awe, the themed event was aimed at recalibrating the loot scenario for its players and some additional features. The event sees new ranged weapons and cosmetic variants added to the game plus more way to earn weapons now in Orders and Contracts in addition to the Weapons Collection and Supply Drops.
Detailed by Sledgehammer Games also revealed that they have dropped the rate on duplicates players will receive in Supply Drops plus a rebalance in category rewards mean that players will receive a wider variety of content categories which will make unboxing feel like a really awesome Christmas morning.
For the complete detailed list on the number of changes coming with the Shamrock & Awe event, check out the Activision blog for more information.

Is the new Lara Croft here to stay?
This weekend saw the opening of the Tomb Raiser film to South African audience. The film reboot, based on the 2013’s Tomb Raider game, in which Oscar winner, Alicia Vikander, took on the titular character, Lara Croft.
While Vikander may have a tall task on besting Angelina Jolie’s performance as Lara Croft some years ago, fans that went out this weekend seemed to have an incredible time as they head out to their local cinemas to watch Tomb Raider, which parts of the film were shot on location in South Africa.
