Monster Hunter, DMC are crossing paths and we’re lovin’ it

One of gaming’s most badass characters, the demon-hunting mercenary, Dante, will be featuring in another parent title, Monster Hunter: World.

Detailed in a blog post on Cacom-Unity, Capcom’s Yuri Araujo that the studio’s two biggest franchises will be teaming up for an upcoming event where MH players will play as Dante as they slay devilish monsters while looking good…

Capcom hasn’t outlined the event in its entirety but from what we do know at this present time is that your hunter will transform into the demon hunter, Dante, working in a similar way to the Monster Hunter: World/Horizon Dawn Zero crossover. A new Charge Blade variant will also be added to the event in which it has been described by many as a “devious combination of the Force Edge and Alastor” swords from the original Devil May Cry. And finally, Dante’s beloved dual wielding weapons, Ebony and Ivory, will be featured for players to use and kick monster butt with.

Capcom has yet to announce a release date or reveal more details for the event, the announcement comes as a bit of a coincidence with the launch of Devil May Cry HD Collection available now on PC and Xbox One.

This comes as many speculate that Capcom are using the game event and the HD Collection launch as promotion as rumours of a possible DMC game may be in the pipelines.
