And we’re still recovering from losing that precious hour #DaylightSavingsTime
The last week was such an eventful with ongoing tournaments like the Rocket League Championships and the Halo Championships concluding in Australia, there have been interesting developments that occured over the weekend that we just can’t ignore any longer…
So, in a first of many roundups to come, here’s what trended on social media and online this past weekend.
Fortnite “squading” things up
Fortnite developer, Epic Games were caught up in controversy when it announced the crossplay feature coming to PS4, PC, Mac and mobile devices including iOS and Android (following the announcement of Fortnite: Battle Royale coming to mobile). But like many of us, we were left wondering whether why the crossplay feature wasn’t enabled for Xbox but truth be told, this wasn’t the full story as reported by various media outlets.
In fact, the crossplay feature WILL indeed come to Xbox, PC, Mac, iOS and Android devices…just not PlayStation 4. According to Epic Games who cleared this confusion up in a press statement:
“Contrary to what may have been implied, Microsoft has long been a leading voice in supporting cross-platform play, connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles. We’ve been working together with them over the last several months to make this possible, and will bring this functionality to Fortnite players on Xbox right along with other platforms.”
Get ready to go N.Sane as Crash is back again!
A rather surprising story to break late last week was that Crash Bandicoot will be coming to Xbox One and PC this year. Completely “left of the field”, the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy will no longer be a PlayStation-exclusive as the hyper-energietc eastern barred bandicoot (for those who didn’t know that) will most likely form part of many Xbox collections.
The N.Sane Trilogy features three remastered editions of classic Crash Bandicoot titles: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped as we can finally relive our childhood nostalgia.
Along with Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, the N.Sane Trilogy will arrive July 10th so keep an eye out for a furry bandicoot blazing past you.
It’s true, Black Ops 4 is happening
Never has a game franchise made so much impact on social media when Activision finally confirmed weeks long rumours of the next Call of Duty title will be the next entry in the Black Ops series.
Treyarch Studios, the developers who produced several Call of Duty titles including Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty: World at War and all the Black Ops titles, are in charge once again as mentioned above, Black Ops 4 will arriving on October 12, exactly seven months from today.
But ahead of the global launch in Octiber, there will be a community event just around the corner on May 17, 2018 so do stay update to date by following Treyarch Studios or XBPSA on Twitter for the latest breaking news.
