Game Releases for Xbox One & Windows PC: March 2018

Folks, it’s a brand new month and we have survived the festive season, the near-brokeness of January and the brief breeze that was February. This month, already kickstarted with new Game Pass and Games with Gold titles available from March 1st.

March will definitely pick up the pace with massive releases and plenty of remastered titles relaunching meaning plenty of opportunities to game and stream on Mixer. But the month will see a push of indie releases but we’ll be highlighting five titles to look out for this month.

Scribblenauts Showdown (Xbox One)

Ready. Set. Party!!!

And party, we shall. The Scribblenauts series live on as a new entry in four years will have players partying Scribblenauts style.

Max is back and he has new friends tagging along on this epic adventure in over 25 minigames. The card-based multiplayer party game will allow players to use their imaginations to create anything in the game’s sandbox mode or try their hand in the Versus mode which supports two players which puts the minigames upfront and centre. But the game’s namesake mode, Showdown, where players up to four people in which players can try their hand at specific variety games Like “Wordy” which players use words to create objects or “Speedy” where players have to beat a specific challenge.

Fun, entertaining and colourful, Scribblenauts Showdown will unleash the creativity within and you can even dress your character up as the God of Thunder, Thor!!!

The showdown will break down on March 6, 2018 when Scribblenauts Showdown launches on Xbox One.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (Xbox One, PC)

The sequel to the 2015 release Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide will arrive this month which will have players returning to the intense first-person co-op showdown. Despite the game’s initial release of August 2017, Vermintide 2 is much more intense, darker, bloodier and we kinda like our games intense, gory and grim…and maybe slightly dramatic. Oh, and the rats are back, which means its rat-squashing time!

A new enemy is introduced to the game, the “malevolent and destructive Chaos army” and the relentless Skaven horde will have players test their might against the toughest enemy threat so far. As your team prepares to survive a savagely intense onslaught unlike anything one faced, players can choose from 15 career choices, learn to vault, customise your arsenal to fit your playing style and get ready to further challenge yourself with a new in-game system, the Heroic Deeds System.

The game, during its beta testing, has a slight issue with its extreme difficulty settings which might make players rage quite a bit so a strong willpower and gut is required.

The Empire will survive as long as you and allies survive the onslaught as Warhammer Vermintide 2 arrives on Xbox One and PC on March 8, 2018.

Sea of Thieves (Xbox One, PC)

If you haven’t followed our awesome Sea of Thieves coverage, you are indeed a sponge living in a pineapple under the sea…

Spongebob aside, one of the year’s most highly anticipated titles and an Xbox/Windows exclusive, Sea of Thieves will be arriving this month and as documented on Rare’s Twitter account, the final push will be arriving in the form of yet another Scale Test this weekend.

Scale Test aside, the lead up to the game’s launch has been nothing short of phenomenal with betas and scale tests giving players a glimpse into the world filled with plenty of ships to destroy, treasures to a-plunder and eclectic characters (and a chicken) to customise and achieve the ultimate goal: become a pirate.

Aye matey! We’ve got our ships ready to set sail on March 20, 2018, when Sea of Thieves drops on Xbox One and PC. If you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’ll be able to purchase and play before everyone else.

Far Cry 5 (Xbox One, PC)

Another massive release arriving this month as Ubisoft will officially welcome players to Hope County.

The fifth installment in the main franchise, Far Cry 5 comes to America, set in the quaint, picturesque fictional town of Hope County, Montana, you play a junior deputy who gets caught in the middle of an apparent takeover of the town by a doomsday cult group known as Eden’s Gate. The fate of Hope County is in your hands as you can explore this postcard-beauty town and have the option to take on The Father solo or with an ally with all the tools at your disposal. Band up with the town’s civilians or enlist your canine friend to assist you in sticky situations,

Much like Sea of Thieves, the build-up to Far Cry 5 has just shifted gears with the announcement of a season pass, a novel, Far Cry Absolution, based on the Far Cry franchise and a short film inspired by the game premiering on March 5 on Amazon Prime which has us thinking, this should be a live action film.

Strike back and liberate Hope County from its dark occultist takeover as Far Cry 5 drops March 27 on Xbox One and PC.

But the buck doesn’t stop there! There is more, yes more to play this month boasting a great variety of titles to play solo or with a friend or two offline or online multiplayer so do keep an eye out for these titles:
