There is a new challenger in the battle royale genre that could give titles like PUBG, Fortnite, H1Z1: King of the Kill and The Culling a running for their money.
Fear the Wolves, the brand new title from Vostok Games and publisher Focus Home Interactivr, is considered by reviewers one of the most “open” battle royale titles in recent years.
Vostok Games is also the team behind the S.T.A L.K.E.R. franchise, which garnered major critical success upon success and whose mechanics are featured in the studios latest title.
A first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world, Fear The Wolves, drops players in sqauds or as “lone wolves” into the chemically ravaged lands of Chernobyl in its classic Battle Royale node. However, players will need to concern themselves with being the last remaining survivor as the hostile environment will provide an assortment of hurdles from mutated creatures, dynamic weather and ligthening.
Its day and night cycle matches mean that matches will be going on for a lot longer than PUBG and Fortnite and its off-limit zones are critical to successfully surviving as they offer players throughout the map with protective gear to survive the deadly environment.
Fear The Wolves is currently in production for consoles and PC but it will hit Early Access sometime this year so do stay close to Vostok Games on Facebook and Twitter for further development and updates.
