Chat up a storm with new mobile party chat feature

Microsoft rolled out a brand new update for the Xbox Smartglass app on mobile devices allowing players to voice chat with friends via the app.

Back in December last year, we reported that Microsoft were testing out the feature which was set to roll out in the coming months for Android and iOS devices after some eagle-eye Redditors broke the news.

Now, players can keep up with your family and friends on the party chat if you’re away from the console. This can be especially helpful when an in-game raid is impending and you’re rushing home from work or you just want to leave the chat open much like other messaging apps like WeChat or WhatsApp.

However, this does give Xbox an advantage over PlayStation whereas the voice chat feature isn’t available on PlayStation unless you use a third-party app.

If you haven’t installed the app or have it set up, these easy steps will ensure success (and we hoped for an Xbox achievement here):

  1. Tap on the three people icon along the top bar.
  2. Tap start a party.
  3. Tap on invite.
  4. Select the friends you want to add.

And boom, guys!!! You’re all set up and ready to chat up a storm!!!
