Survival horror title ‘We Happy Few’ delayed again

The eclectic survival horror title, We Happy Few, will be delayed once again, pushing the release date to the summer of 2018.

In a video posted on YouTube, Compulsion Games, the developer behind We Happy Few, stated that a rebuild is currently underway for the game’s first few hours.

Originally slated for an April release, the team made the decision to completely revamp the games first hours following a playthrough where the developer realised that it wasn’t up to par with the vision they had in mind.

The project started in January 2014 as a Kickstarter campaign before moving into early access on Steam and Xbox One. According to Compulsion Games COO, Sam Abbott who commented on the team’s journey thus far in a recent :

“G, Whitney, Alex, Matt and I have been on the project for four years now – we started January 2014. The rest of the team have joined us since then, bringing together their enthusiasm, skill and determination to create a game we’re very excited about.”

The game follows Arthur who has been trapped in a dystopian-like world that has been plagued by a massive drug, “Joy”, that has everyone hooked. Players have to control their drug habit in order to have somewhat of a clear perspective of the world while maintaining a high without drawing too much attention to themselves.

Compulsion Games also revealed a second main character, Sally, which the studio gives a glance into her story.

And while they aim to produce a game that fans can really get their hands on and a game the studio can be proud of, it will be quite the anxious wait til the summer but all good things do come to those who wait…
