Bandai Namco announces Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta; reveals new in-game feature

The much-anticipated fighting game, Dragon Ball FighterZ will have another beta coming the new year according to Bandai Namco of America. This is good news for those who have missed out on the beta back in September.

Unlike the closed beta from September, this beta is open to PS4 and Xbox One which will arrive on January 14, 2018. But for those who have pre-ordered the digital or physical copy (the Collector’s Edition) of the game, will get to experience Dragon Ball FighterZ a day early on January 13.

Although the studio hasn’t revealed details into what game modes and characters will be playable for the open beta, already 24 characters have been named for the game’s roster which included the recent additions of Beerus, Hit and Goku Black from the Super series.

Bandai Namco also introduced a new game feature, the Shenron System, which loops a series of combos during a match for players to collect Dragon Balls. By collecting all seven, players will summon the Eternal Dragon Shenron who thus grants players one of four wishes.

To get on all the action in the Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta, these are the times available for everyone and for those who’ve pre-ordered:

  • Pre-orders: January 13 at 3 am Eastern Time (10am in South Africa)
