As PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continue to dominate the news on most platforms, the latest free update for Grand Theft Auto Online, The Doomsday Heist, is probably the biggest, most important expansion yet.
The expansion, which went live on Tuesday, features a crapload of insanely cool features to tease and tantalise every gamer’s tastebud. A trailer that highlighted some of the awesome features including flying cars (a homage to the Back to the Future’s DeLorean) and experimental weapons.
In this high stakes, high rewards heist, players will form part of a tactical team to tackle an unknown yet powerful force who “are working on a plan so diabolical it could end life as we know it“. The chaotic heist unravels in three acts, which Rockstar stated will end in an “over-the-top finale” that will handsomely reward you for your role/efforts. Engage in “negotiating multiple ruthless Freemode prep missions, tactical setup operations, and experimental weapons and vehicles” which you have access to like the Mammoth Thruster jetpack to get you out of sticky situations, rain death from above with The Avenger or flatten vehicles and buildings with the futuristic Khanjali tank.

The Mastermind Challenge returns which will feature in all three acts teams of 2-4 players with more Achievements and Trophies to bag. Also, a new set of challenges, only for the brave to accomplish with a sweet reward upon completion. There will be plenty of cosmetic customisation options available with the expansion and a radio station which was recently teased by Rockstar and R&B artist Frank Ocean in which it has been rumoured that Ocean is curating music for the radio station.
