The controversial yet popular Hitman feature, “Elusive Targets” will be returning to the game over the next couple of months.
Announced last week by developer IO Interactive, the re-activation of the elusive targets coincides the recent release of Hitman: Game of the Year Edition.
The elusive targets commenced on Friday as players have 10 days to find and kill The Forger whose’s whereabouts having been locked in Paris. However, failure to elliminate him will result in a missed opportunity as players will have to wait for the next elusive target.
IO Interactive haven’t released the complete schedule for the elusive targets, players can keep up-to-date with the Hitman Companion which players will get notified on the next target. The Hitman Companion is available for Android and iOS devices.
Although upon its initial release, the feature did run into a few major problens as many players were accidentally killed and were unable to replay the contract. According to one of its developers, Torben Ellert during a 2016 interview, he explained how the feature was developed and how the feature’s real intention wasn’t meant to be playes over again.
“Being able to replay them, they wouldn’t necessarily stand up. I chose way early on that they were going to have some fairly bombastic accidents, so that they would be easier to find, so that they would be more memorable. But that means that if you’re really paying attention, you can hear [the characters] defaulting to their AI dialogue – for instance where they need to tell guards about stuff.
