Overwatch’s Jeff Kaplan details how Overwatch will change eSport vieiwing

The latest Developer Update for Overwatch was released last week as game director Jeff Kaplan reveals how Overwatch is evolving esports viewing.

The team at Blizzard tackled one of their biggest criticism: how to constantly follow the latest from Overwatch’s esporting events as Kaplan detailed how the team are working to resolve the problem but at the same time improving the viewing thus enhancing the experience.

The steps will be implemented for the World Cup at BlizzCon on November 3 and 4. Teams competing will be donning team uniforms, which will have both home and away colours. Home colours will have a darker hue compared to the away colours, which will be represented on the HUD.

Broadcasters and spectators will gain access to a top-down interactive map to view all the competitive action all at once. Instant replays can now be created by broadcasters during these live shows.

More features have been detailed in the Overwatch Developer Update as Blizzard are constantly improving ways on how we play, view and interact with Overwatch.
