Telltale puts GoT game on ice, The Witcher celebrates 10th birthday, new project from Gearbox teased

So many games, it’s hard to pick one…

Fans will also wait a while for Telltale’s Game of Thrones

The season finale of HBO’s Game of Thrones has left many of us asking more questions than getting answers (like what are we going to do for the next two years), developer Telltale Studios has provided an answer surrounding the studio’s Game of Thrones game franchise. Season 1 was released back in 2014 and the second season was reported to be in development.

According to Telltale’s Head of Communications Job Stauffer, who did an interview with EuroGamer last month, he responded to a question whether the second season is still in development or not.

“Not long after the conclusion of the first season we said would be continuing, and we had designs on the future of Telltale’s Game of Thrones. Right now that is on hold. We haven’t announced it, which does not mean it’s never coming but I think right now we’re anxious to get back into Wolf, Walking Dead and Batman and see where things go with the narrative of the [Game of Thrones] show before we really come back to the table with something we’re excited about.”

All hope isn’t lost as we can still see the second season of Game of Thrones, hopefully, before season 8 arrives in 2019.

On September 4th, 2007 a Polish developer, CD Projekt RED developed and released a medieval fantasy open world game that spawned subsequent sequels earning “Game of the Year” awards for the third title in the series. That series is The Witcher.

Based on a series of short stories by Polish novelist Andrzej Sapkowski following the journey of a witcher, Geralt of Rivia, the novels have since been adapted for films, a television series which will air on Netflix and its most popular adaptation, a video game series.

The developer released a YouTube video, thanking fans for the continuous support over the past ten years as Geraltreminiscese at a birthday party while the guests were playing Gwent (which has thus spawned into a game too).
