Gamescom 2017: Project Scorpio, Minecraft limited edition consoles revealed

Long live Project Scorpio…

Yesterday, Microsoft announced pre-order details for the upcoming launch of the Xbox One X at gamescom but the news that has dominated news outlets is the announcement of a limited edition of the console, the “Project Scorpio” edition.

The news, which leaked from a German retailer’s website a day before the official announcement, formed part of Xbox’s pre-order reveal for the Xbox One X at gamescom.

The limited edition will have the “Project Scorpio” branding on the console and controller along with an all-black custom paint and the console will have a stippled texture, unlike the standard edition.

According to Microsoft, to get your hands on the limited edition console, it will only be made available via pre-order (we have yet to hear from local retailers for pre-order details) as it will cost the exact same as the Xbox One X.

Staying with Xbox news, a “Minecraftlimited edition for the Xbox One S was revealed at gamescom, also leaked in a video via Facebook ahead of the announcement.

Fans of the game will enjoy the console’s theme, having a mixture of the brown and green with the Minecraft blocks etched into the console and the controller with its block-like mix of green and black.
