Aside from the hype surrounding Xbox’s limited edition consoles, there were also a few surprise keynotes to take away from gamescom as Microsoft aims to bring the fun back into PC gaming.
Xbox Game Pass extended to more countries
This, by far, has to be one of the biggest developments from gamescom and that is the Xbox Game Pass has now extended its subscription service to eight more countries including South Africa. The service will go live on September 1 as South African Xbox owners can now enjoy over 100 Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles. Subscription fee has yet to be announced.
Staying with Xbox Game Pass, seven new titles join the library for September. Subscribers can enjoy the following titles:
- ReCore Definitive Edition
- Metro: Last Light Redux
- Fable II
- Garou: Mark of the Wolves
- 10 Second Ninja X
- Hue
- The Bridge

Turn 10 Studios reveals Forza Motorsport 7 specs for PC
Forza fans on PC will be needing a major overhaul to play Forza Motorsport 7 as Turn 10 Studios recommended a top-of-the-range graphics card and processors due to the game’s extensive detail. Discussing on the Xbox’s gamescom Live yesterday, Turn 10’s Creative Director Bill Giese revealed over 30 peripherals to be supporting the game as PC fans can enjoy the spoils with the Forza Motorsport 7 demo on PC.

Xbox One dashboard adds light mode, allows transfers
Xbox’s Corporate VP of Gaming Mike Ybarra announced new features coming to Xbox One in the next update.
Xbox One consoles owners can download 4K updates to their existing console before migrating to the Xbox One X and transfer the files to an external harddrive or over your home network by backing up your preferred settings.

Another feature coming with the update is a Light Mode. Players can now toggle between the two modes which the Light Mode offers a more bright and welcoming feel every time you switch your console on.
The complete list of Xbox One X 4K Enhanced titles
Xbox revealed over 100 new and existing titles to be 4K enhanced for the Xbox One X. Fans can expected titles like Halo 5, The Witcher III and Rise of the Tomb Raider all to receive the 4K treatment.
