Plenty of news coming from Electronic Arts (EA) over the past few days including a title added to Access for Xbox and PC, a title gets removed from Access and a merger
Titanfall 2 available on EA Access
EA/Origin Access, a subscription service only available for Xbox One and Windows PC, has welcomed a new title into its catalogue, Titanfall 2. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, members can play Titanfall 2 for free for the month of August which strategically coincides with the release of a new DLC featuring a players-vs-computer horde mode.
Titanfall 2 will join Battlefield 1 for free this month but if you haven’t subscribed to the service yet, click on the provided to play the best titles from EA.
…and EA Access drops a title from the library
As much as members will be excited to play Titanfall 2 this month, EA Access will be dropping a title for the first time from its vault. FIFA 14, was one of the first titles to launch with the service back in 2014, won’t be available for much longer as the game is expected to be removed on October 18, 2017.
EA will be pulling the plug on its online servers as players won’t access Ultimate Team or use the in-game currency on the same day but it can still be played in offline mode.

Mass Effect Andromeda developers BioWare Montréal will be moving in with their (literal) next door neighbours, EA Motive, in a merger that sees former colleagues reunited to work under one studio.
Most of the BioWare staff have moved over to Motive following negative criticism on their most recent release Mass Effect Andromeda as BioWare decided to put the franchise on ice while the studio continues to offer support.
An EA spokesperson stated in an interview with Tech Raptor, “The teams in EA Worldwide Studios are packed with talent, and more than ever, we’re driving collaboration between studios on key projects.”
It may sound like the world is coming to an end, however, this merger will see the two studios share resources considering how close they worked together on the upcoming action shooter Star Wars: Battlefront II.
