A new page has been added to the Xbox One Store as part of a pilot program by Xbox, is now open for testing. Available on some testers, this pilot program, the Xbox Live Creators Collection, allows developers to publish their games through the program.
Originally announced at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2017, the program is open to any and all developers and the gaming community. The games wouldn’t be promoted as such by Xbox and aren’t subjected to any restrictions and legalities. This is a much faster, cheaper and accessible way for developers to readily make their games available to the Xbox platform, the program having similarities to an app marketplace.

Not to be confused with ID@Xbox program which does has its own procedures and legal red tape, titles from the ID@Xbox program undergo various procedures for approval, legalities and marketing before it’s then published under the ID@Xbox program.
Right now only six titles are available on the Xbox Creators Collection and if you’re part of the Xbox Insiders Program, you’ll be able to view the page and play the games on the current catalogue, some which are free-to-play.
As mentioned earlier, the project is in its testing phase as some games experienced stability issues according to Xbox due to the open-endedness of the program. As the story continues to unfold, not much has been revealed whether the project will be made available for all Xbox One owners.
Editor’s Note: We, at XBPSA, will continue to follow this exciting project as development on this project will continue to unfold in the weeks to come.
