The 47th annual San Diego Comic-Con has officially kicked off yesterday with thousands flocking to the sunny city to attend some of the biggest panel discussions across multiple genres ranging from films, television, comic books, anime and video games.
And while panels to hosted by Marvel, DC Comics, HBO (Game of Thrones) and AMC (The Walking Dead) over the next few days drawing massive attention, we’re keeping a close eye on the gaming panels and booths hosted at this Comic-Con which includes Capcom, Activision, Nintendo and Microsoft.
Some of the biggest gaming news already confirmed well ahead of Comic-Com here’s four gaming rumours we expect to see at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con:
Will we see CoD: WWII Zombie mode come to private beta?

Yesterday, Activision unveiled footage of the upcoming Zombies mode for their latest CoD title, Call of Duty: WWII which showed off the game’s mechanics, graphics and a few celebrity faces involved in the project. And while the private beta for CoD: WWII is just around the corner (Sept. 1-4 for PS4 and Xbox One), one could merely speculate that Sledgehammer Games might possibly include the Zombies mode into their beta, it would be very silly not to include it. Activision has yet to confirm this rumour, we’ll be holding our breath until then.
Is the Capcom Universe expanding with Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite?

The Evolution Championship Series (or EVO for short) provided plenty of news regarding some of our favourite fighting titles including Geese Howard’s addition to Tekken 7, Sub-Zero for Injustice 2 and Jedah added to the MvC: Infinite roster, but according to Capcom, they could potentially be more fighters coming to MvC: Infinite. Marvel, who will be having a panel at this year’s Comic-Con, we could possibly see the Black Panther and Ant-Man added to the roster in the near future. But what we do know for sure is that the World of Capcom panel is a must-see and we agree.
More DLCs for Injustice 2?

As mentioned earlier, Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero became the latest fighter, joining Red Hood and Starfire as part of nine DLC characters for Injustice 2. And it seems the next fighter will be joining the roster as ranking service site, Ranked Boost, revealed that the next fighter could either be Aquaman’s arch-nemesis Black Manta, the baddest anti-hero in comic books Spawn or Mortal Kombat’s thunder god Raiden. Either way, expect a major character coming to Injustice 2 and with rumours of an expansion to the game’s Story Mode, NetherRealm, you most certainly have our attention.
Is there more info to follow on the DragonBall FighterZ beta?

One of the games I’m most excited about, Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighting game, DragonBall FighterZ drew plenty of attention since its reveal during the Xbox E3 conference last month. Recently, Krillin and Piccolo were announced on Tuesday as the latest fighters to be joining the roster following the big announcement at EVO. Fan-favourite Trunks was revealed in a trailer to join the DragonBall FighterZ roster and the registration for the closed beta will open on July 26 for PS4 and Xbox One. Could we see more characters joining the battle?
