Last week, we featured a #TBT on Tony Hawk’s Underground which brought back some really great memories and now, news reports have stated that streaming platform Steam (again!) is set to delist Pro Skater HD on July 17 from its store.
According to a statement released by developer Robomodo via Steam on Monday:
“Save 80% on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD as part of this week’s Weeklong Deal! This is your last chance to buy Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD on Steam – the game will be retired from the store on July 17th.”
Sure, the game will pull in more gamers toward the game and possibly high downloads and video content but there’s isn’t an official reason why Steam will retire the game. However, rumours suggest that it may be due to the game’s music licencing, wich too, had expired. this isn’t the first time a game was pull from digital stores due to expired music licences.
Back in May, developer Remedy Entertainment pulled action adventure title Alan Wake from Xbox and Steam due to expired music licence resulting in a massive discount on the Alan Wake titles.
While Robomodo would continue to make the disastrous Pro Skater 5, Activision hasn’t revealed whether they plan on bringing another skating game into the fold or release another entry in the Tony Hawk’s games, what we do want is another Tony Hawk game but we preferred Neversoft. We have trust issues with Robomodo.
