The folks at Blizzard has finally dropped the 25th hero for their online multiplayer FPS, Overwatch, and players worldwide have been rejoicing…all weekend long.
Doomfist has been at the centre of many conversations online and on social media, whether Blizzard will introduce the character or not. The character has been teased since the game’s official trailer over a year ago. Heck, even Terry Crews was linked to voicing the character as he posted on Twitter if the fans will want to hear him voice the role.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t voice Doomfist breaking millions of hearts but he does voice a character on the upcoming cyberpunk shooter, Crackdown 3.
So, who is Doomfist? A cybernetically enhanced hero, specialising in speed and dealing damage will join the current hero roster for players who prefer offensive tactics. His main weapon, a Hand Cannon, allows Doomfist to deal damage from long distances and in close combat fighting, has a Rocket Punch. Other attacks in his arsenal include Seismic Slam, Rising Uppercut and Best Defense, Doomfist’s shielding attack. But if your team get hit with the Meteor Strike, his ultimate attack, it will wipe out all or most of his opponents with ease.
Many clues have been teasing his eventual arrival to Overwatch which includes his gauntlet as an objective on the Numbani map, where one team has to prevent the payload been captured by the opposing team, a museum exhibit on that same map and the character Orisa, who was created after her predecessors wiped out by Doomfist himself.
While his reputation precedes him, Overwatch players can now play Doomfist on the public test servers.
Welcome to Team Overwatch, Doomfist.
