This week, the producer of the Netflix exclusive anime-adaptation of Castlevania announced that he will be producing another anime project based on the Assassin’s Creed gaming franchise.
According to Adi Shankar on his Facebook page, he wrote:

To make this story more concrete, the Head of Content for Assassin’s Creed, Azaïzia Aymar confirmed Ubisoft’s involvement in the project.
In my opinion, I think this could either blow up in smokes or be a success. Considering how the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed did at the box office (which by the way, it didn’t do that well with the critics), it can add more fuel to the fire especially since the anime will introduce a new character and not retell the story.
On the other hand, it can remedy the bad reception the film received by introducing a new story but still keeping within the parameters of The Assassins Brotherhood narrative (and maybe a standalone game release). And since Ubisoft are involved in this project and I love anime, this could be a recipe for success.
Editor’s Note: Netflix will debut the Castlevania anime on July 7, 2017, but we don’t know whether the show will be available in South Africa.
