Rocket League developers, Psyonix, announced on Wednesday that a Rocket League tournament will be hosted at this year’s Summer X Games. This will be the first time an esports tournament will be featured at the extreme sports event.
Psyonix will ne be teaming up with esports platform, Faceit, who helped the indie developers secure a deal with major American broadcaster NBC. The prize pool for the tournament is set at $75 000 which will be broadcast on ESPN during X Games from July 14-16.
Keeping with Rocket League, Adult Swim’s hit show, Rick and Morty, will be invading Rocket League in a DLC coming next week. In time for Rocket League’s second anniversary, some of the Rick and Morty goodies include themed antennas, toppers, rocket boost and wheels.
The update will go live on July 5 as Common drops.
A Second Anniversary update for Rocket League will be available on July 5 which will include a new arena, cars, cosmetic items, music and more achievements and trophies.
