How Microsoft continues to enhance the gaming experience

Since its reveal at E3 a few weeks ago, Xbox didn’t second-guess when announcing a $499 (R7499) price tag on the Xbox One X. We’ve seen it all over social media; some have complained that it’s too exorbitant for Xbox to be asking for that specific price and some have been quite content considering all the features and perks that will come with the 4K powered console. One of those features is set to be one of the biggest selling points and that is the Xbox Play Anywhere system.

So, what is it exactly? In simple terms, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a gaming service for the Xbox One and Windows 10 that allows gamers who have purchased a game through the digital store to get it for free on the other platform. This system will support all cloud saves, cross-plays and Xbox Live Achievements. Basically, buy two games and only pay for one kind of system.

Xbox is really going the extra mile for players as its becoming a brand and a service for the gamers and not just another console or box that you can play mindlessly for hours. But while Xbox can only go so far in developing a powerful system, the game developers are tasked with delivering games with all the shining, sparkly bits and using the most advanced technology and engines to power their games to run on their console with compatible features, which can get exhausting and can leave room for errors. This does mean that the Xbox One X could potentially sell at a loss even though it gains more popularity on games and features.

But once the dust settles, one has to admit that Xbox has, in some way, outsmart Sony to a point where they’ve put their hardware to the test to produce probably “the most powerful console ever made” with some insanely good hardware features by allowing the console to run 60fps and its native 4K. Xbox continues to push the boundaries with software features that encourage cross-platform play with the Windows 10 and most recently, Nintendo, allow players to play their favourite 360 (and now Original Xbox) titles as part of the backward compatibility system and effortlessly play and stream their gameplay/s on Mixer.

But whether you want to hold off on buying or transition to the One X, the features and benefits are still there. But as long as you spend your money wisely within the Microsoft family, you’re doing just fine, for now…
