E3 is just around the corner, folks…oh, it’s damn true.
The world’s biggest convention in gaming and electronics is happening in Los Angeles Convention Center from June. Here, at XBPSA, we have the scoop on who’s presenting, what games will we expect to be at the convention and how you can watch it.
Already in its 23rd year, this year promises to be bigger with some of the most anticipated releases all on board including the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII. Over 15 000 people will be attending this year’s event
Microsoft is one of the big companies, along with Sony and Nintendo, at the event and Microsoft promises it won’t disappoint. Last month, the company released the console’s hardware specs and according to Xbox head Phil Spencer, he’s “excited to unveil Project Scorpio and the amazing game experiences it powers at E3 this June.”
Below, is the schedule for the biggest presentations at this year’s conference. Other companies will have a more low-key or behind closed doors event. The E3 conference will be live streaming on the YouTube Live at E3 channel. All the bracketed times are the live streaming times in South Africa:
Saturday, June 10: Electronic Arts: Live @ EA Play (9 pm CAT)
EA Play is back and this time, it’s taking over The Hollywood Palladium will be revealing its latest and upcoming releases including Madden 18, FIFA 18, NBA Live 18, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and the upcoming Need For Speed.
Sunday, June 11: Microsoft – Xbox E3 Briefing (11 pm CAT)
Project Scorpio will take the spotlight at this year’s event alongside Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Forza Motorsport 7.
Monday, June 12: Zenimax Media – Bethesda E3 Showcase (6 am CAT)
Bethesda Softworks will reveal the latest on their titles including The Elder Scrolls, Fallout together will Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey), id (DOOM, Quake) and MachineGames (Wolfenstein).
Computer Games – PC Gaming Show (7 pm CAT)
Microsoft will feature at this year’s annual PC Gaming Show, now in its third year running. Other presentations featured include Bohemia Interactive, Cygames, Nexon and Tripwire Interactive. Intel has replaced AMD as the main sponsor. Expect VR and esports to take the stage.
Ubisoft – UbiE3 (10pm CAT)
Ubisoft will be one of the major events at this year’s conference as the French publisher will showcase its titles such as Far Cry 5 and South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Also, Assassin’s Creed will also be on show as we uncover what to expect in the latest franchise instalment.
