Early this month, we debuted the video for a new subscription service for Xbox called the Game Pass.
Dubbed as the “Netflix for gaming”, the service is at to be the main competitor for the PlayStation Now. Unlike the PS Now, the Xbox Game Pass has flat subscription rate of $9,99 (around R129) and has over 100 Xbox 360/Xbox One games to choose from. Of course, as time goes by, the list will expand with more titles adding to the service.
With the Xbox Game Pass, players can directly download games to their hard drive which the PS Now has a streaming service as it’s comparison. However with streaming live games can be expensive over time due to internet fees (especially in South Africa), it can cause problems among players trying to stream their gameplays. While this trend hasn’t caught up yet, Microsft is sticking to their guns, providing services that really do work.
Nice job, guys…
Titles that are expected to launch with the service includes Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, NBA 2K16 and SoulCalibur II. Although titles are expect to rotate every once in a while, more titles will be announced around the time of the launch on June 1, 2017 exclusive to Gold members first.
