If you’re a fan of the Dragon Age franchise, well, you’ll be excited to know that a fourth title is in the pipelines.
According to an interview with Eurogamer, writer Alexis Kennedy revealed that he is working on a script for project related to the franchise.
“There are huge differences between all of that and what I’m working on at BioWare,” he stated, “which I can now legitimately say is in the Dragon Age franchise although it has been known for a while. Notionally it was a secret but, because of who I was working with, everyone who cared knew. And then the day I started, Mark Darrah [executive producer of the Dragon Age franchise] tweeted saying ‘welcome to the Dragon Age franchise’, so I thought, well, I guess that’s official now then.”
Early this month, we featured an article on BioWare’s woes following sales of Mass Effect: Andromeda, but this could potentially get BioWare out of that funk and back to basics that made them a successful publisher for the last decade.
This is one of the few projects that BioWare is focusing their efforts into as well as a mysterious project which goes by the IP codename, Dylan. While Dragon Age is its early production stage, what we don know is that BioWare has given Kennedy “considerable” autonomy with scripting which includes a “well-segregated” piece of lore.
“It’s nothing that grandiose, but it is distinct. It’s a bit of lore which has not been addressed much to date in Dragon Age.”
As the buildup towards E3 continues, it’s no doubt that more information regarding the Dragon Age project could be revealed at the convention next month.
