It’s a year since Blizzard released the action online multiplayer first person shooter game (that’s a mouthful) and millions have joined to fight for the future, whether it was alongside #TeamOverwatch or #TeamBlackwatch.
To celebrate its first anniversary, Blizzard released a video to say thank you for supporting the game, the characters and the studio.
Blizzard also announced a seasonal event, Anniversary Event, which takes a look back at the past year. To keep the party going, a free weekend pass scheduled for May 26-29, allows players to enter the arena for free and if they do purchase the full game, their progress will be transferred.
According to Game Informer, a digital edition, Game of the Year edition, for Xbox One, PS4 and PC will be released on May 23 which includes bonus loot boxes, heroes skins and upon purchasing the Game of the Year Edition will give you extra reasons to love Overwatch even more., including Tracer in Heroes of the Storm, an adorable Baby Winston Pet in WoW, Mercy’s wings in Diablo III, a Hearthstone card and in-game portraits.
Blizzard also revealed that three new maps will be available in Arena mode.
Don’t forget all of these incredible Overwatch goodies will be available next week on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows.
