On Tuesday, Alan Wake was officially pulled from digital stores. The action-adventure game was everything one could expect from such a genre; intense combat, harrowing narrative, an unforgettable character and one of the best gaming soundtracks to date.
However, its that very soundtrack that developers Remedy Entertainment, had to pull the game off Xbox Live and Steam due to its music licence that eventually expired. Although, the makers have stated that they are looking to relicence the music, which featured Depeche Mode, Harry Nilsson, Roy Orbison and the late David Bowie, it could potentially set them back millions of dollars.
They did, however, took time on their Twitter account to thank the fans who have supported the studio and Alan Wake.
But it won’t be the last we will be seeing from the studio. Creators of Max Payne and Quantum Break, have two games in development which we could see in the near future.
It may be a sad goodbye to Alan, but not for Remedy Entertainment just yet…
